ABOUT DW500

Drag Weekend 500 is the ultimate test of man and machine. Not only do the race cars have to be fast on the dragstrip but they must also be built to last, as they are driven from track-to-track-to-track.

The event begins at Byron Dragway (Byron, IL), travels to Rock Falls Raceway (Eau Claire, WI), and returns back to Byron Dragway for a total round trip of over 500 miles!

Follow the journey in “The Racers of Drag Weekend 500” Facebook group.

How do I register?

Registration will be available online only at DragWeekend500.com.

Registration opens at 7pm ct on Monday, August 17, 2020.

A big red button will go live on website at that time.

Does tire type matter?

We will not regulate the “type” of tire you use, so long as it meets the tire size allowed for your class.

What are the rule on trailers?

You can trailer your race car to Byron Dragway on Thursday evening/Friday morning before the event starts.

You can leave your car trailer at Byron Dragway until the conclusion of the even on Sunday afternoon.

You are allowed to tow a “parts trailer” behind your race car. There are no restrictions with regards to the parts trailer, so long as the race car tows it.

Can I bring a crew/navigator with me?

Yes. Every car/driver entry also includes one (1) weekend crew pass (navigator) but that person has ride in the car (not in a chase vehicle).

Is there a designated route we have to travel?

You can choose the route of your choice from track-to-track.

The only stipulation is that there will be a “photo check point(s)” along the route.

Check point(s) are to be determined.

When is tech inspection?

Early Parking & Tech Inspections are on Thursday, September 10 from 4 pm – 7:30 pm ct at Byron Dragway.
